Friday Beauty Finds: Dry Shampoo that will change your life...

When I started using dry shampoo my goal was to go ONE day with out washing my hair.

One day...

Now, most weeks, I am up to seven dirty days {depending on how many times that week I worked out}.  Yes, you heard that correct...seven days without washing my hair!

I know that seems gross to most people, but washing is actually really bad for your hair.  I never thought I could go longer than one day, but it turns out I had no idea how to use dry shampoo.   I was talking to my hairdresser one day about how dry shampoo never works for me, and she informed me that I was doing it all wrong.

Did you know that you should start using dry shampoo the day you wash your hair?

Don't wait until your hair is actually oily.  That defeats the whole purpose.  Starting from the moment you wash your hair prevents oiliness and allows you to go without washing much longer.

If you're anything like me, you have gone through LOTS of dry shampoos to find the perfect fit for your hair.  I've tried everything from drug store brands to brands straight from my favorite salon, and could never find the right fit.

My friend told me about her favorite and I have never turned back!  This dry shampoo by Elizabeth & James {AKA Mary Kate & Ashley} is the best thing you will ever try, and it now comes in four different scents!  I personally don't like anything too perfumy, so I use the Black flavor.

I have smelled all flavors and they're all nice.  It just depends on how much florals/perfumes you like.

Product Information

Price Point: $28
Sold At: I usually get mine at Sephora, but I just discovered it is also sold at Nordstrom, so I'll probably be making a switch over {Umm...hello...did someone say Nordstrom Notes?}

Key Ingredients: Natural Rice Starch (absorbs the oil)

Application: When first applied, the dry shampoo is very fragrant and leaves a white hue over your hair.  It's best to hold the bottle 6-8 inches away from your head when applying.  I spray on when I start getting dressed and let it sit the whole time I'm getting ready {I imagine this is what Mary Kate and Ashley do as well...}.  Once I blow dry it a little and brush through it, the white hue is completely gone, even for me and I have black hair.
